The Fossil Creek Waterfall that this post is about can be reached by an easy 2-mile round trip trail. The trail can only be accessed via Strawberry. The Fossil Spring Falls at the dam can be reached by a strenuous 8-mile round trip hike on the Bob Bear Trail, formerly Fossil Springs Trail. Here you will find the “toilet bowl” whirlpool, the mermaid grotto, and the La Croix cave, along with the waterfall. While both falls can be found along Fossil Creek and are fed by the same springs, Fossil Springs refers to the waterfall that can be found at the Old Fossil Creek Dam.
